What is a scalp detox?
A scalp detox is a deep cleansing treatment that removes toxins, chemical buildup, product residue, and impurities from your scalp and hair follicles. Unlike regular shampooing, a scalp detox uses mineral-based ingredients like bentonite clay and activated charcoal to draw out deep-seated buildup that regular cleansers can't reach.
Why do I need a scalp detox if I already wash my hair?
Regular shampoos clean the surface of your scalp, but they don't remove the chemical residue from hair products, environmental pollutants, or buildup that accumulates deep in your follicles. A scalp detox goes deeper to truly reset your scalp environment.
Is scalp detoxing important for protective styles?
Absolutely. Protective styles like braids, wigs, weaves, and locs create a sealed environment on your scalp. This traps product buildup, sweat, and toxins against your skin for weeks at a time. Without a proper detox, this buildup can clog follicles, slow hair growth, cause itching, and create odor.
How often should I detox my scalp?
We recommend detoxing every 3–4 weeks, ideally before each new protective style install. This gives your scalp a clean, healthy foundation and helps maximize hair growth between installs.

No! The ToxiTress™ Scalp Detox Kit is specifically formulated to work without disturbing your protective style. You can detox your scalp while keeping your braids, wig, or weave fully intact.
How long does the ToxiTress™ 3-Step process take?
The full 3-step process takes under 90 minutes: Step 1 (Purify™ Oil Elixir) takes 30–60 minutes, Step 2 (Extract™ Mineral Cleanse) takes 10–15 minutes, and Step 3 (Restore™ Botanical Infusion) takes about 10 minutes.
Are ToxiTress™ products safe for all hair types?

Our kit uses a blend of bentonite clay, kaolin clay, activated charcoal, apple cider vinegar powder, rosemary, chamomile, aloe, green tea, jojoba oil, argan oil, castor oil, and vitamin E. No harsh chemicals — ever.
Can I use ToxiTress™ if I have a sensitive scalp?
Yes. Our formula is gentle enough for sensitive scalps. The Restore™ Botanical Infusion in Step 3 is specifically designed to soothe and calm the scalp after cleansing. If you have a specific scalp condition, we recommend consulting your dermatologist before use.
